Managing of Local Action Plans for solving issues of IDPs and returnees

December 2, 2019

The workshop “Assessing the needs in process of preparation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of local action plans” took place in Belgrade, on 27th November 2019.

Introduction speech was delivered by Ms. Sandra Ilic from the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration. The participants were welcomed by Ms. Catalina Stan, the Project Team leader.

The workshop was addressed to the personnel involved in drafting strategic plans at the level of local public authorities that are implementing the grant projects, as either coordinators or partners.

The participants were presented with the concept and role of the Local Action Plans (LAPs) with main focus on how to accurately identify needs, as a basis for planning and management, to support the internally displaced persons (IDPs) and returnees under Readmission Agreement in their communities.

The LAPs are mechanisms in decision making process for reaching long terms goals which are important for solving the social inclusion issues of IDPs and returnees, in the areas of housing, employment, health care and education.

The workshop was interactive with illustrative examples and practical exercises using the presented tools and techniques.

The workshop was evaluated as very useful for future planning and implementation of the LAPs in all communities where grant projects are implementing.

The project will continue to provide support to the grant project beneficiaries until June 2020.
